Be Brave!

Hi! I'm Erica, the sewing nerd behind Lovely Hollow. Over the years my brand has ebbed and flowed with the ever changing seasons of motherhood, and I just love getting to share what I create with you.

My mom bought me my first sewing machine as a Christmas gift when I was in college. And what- at the time- felt like something "I'd never get into", has turned into something that I love deeply. Sewing has become a way that I process hard seasons and come alive in such a tangible way. My mom and I bonded so much through the years over new patterns and projects, and after her passing in November 2025 my sewing time has turned my grief into the prayers I often don't have words for.

On somewhat of a whim (and hype from dear friends) I began teaching sewing classes and decided to launch these humble little patterns as a way to do for others what my mom did for me: cheer for you to start with what you have, believe in yourself, and be brave.

I've now employed my eldest daughter to help me with this little project. It's her handiwork with the videos you'll see: an opportunity for her to create and be brave, too. I can't think of a better way to honor my mom's legacy of creativity than to continue to pass it on.
